Eve O’Brien Irish Schools U15s Girls International

On Saturday March 7th, Eve O’Brien made her international debut for the Irish Schools U15s Girls football team against England. It is historic for Woodbrook College as she is the first girl in the school to represent her country’s football team.

Unfortunately, the Republic of Ireland schools U15s girls team lost 2-1 to visitors England at National Sports Campus in Abbotstown, Dublin. However, Eve performed very well and managed to play a starring role in the game by setting up the Irish equaliser with a free-kick after 16mins. The English team regained the lead after half-time and held out for a 2-1 win.

Well done to Eve on receiving her first cap at U15 level. The whole school community is proud of your outstanding achievement and we wish you all the best as you progress to even greater successes in your football career.
