There is a new system of grading being introduced to both the Leaving and Junior Cycle Examinations from this summer onwards.
A new grading system will apply to all of Leaving Certificate subjects from 2017. The new grading system reduces the number of grades from 14 in the old system to 8 under the revised arrangements.
A new grading system at Junior Cycle will not affect all subjects immediately and after English this coming summer; the rest will come on stream over the next couple of years.
This means that this year the grading that applies to English and that which applies to all other Junior Certificate subjects will be different.
Please take the time to review the changes and to speak to each student about them so that they are familiar with the changes.
